Nakki lake is known as the heart of Mount Abu. One of the best place in Mount Abu to sit and relax in the cool breeze with the beautiful view of the lake. The trip to Mount Abu is incomplete if Nakki lake is not visited. Nakki Lake has beautiful boats which can be hired to have a wonderful and memorable ride of the lake.

It has many sacred stories associated with it one of which is of Rasiya Balam and Kunwari Kanya. The story says that the king said that if any man digs a lake with his nail in one night then he will marry his daughter to him but later he refused. As the lake was dug by Nails "Nakh" and hence its name.

Besides natural beauty there is very good tourist shopping market to which one can take a wonderful walk. One can find many places to eat and to shopp from the market.

Dilwara Temple is one of the most beautiful temple site in the world. The temple is known not only for its historic importance but also for very fine art work carved on the marbel at a time where todays modern machinery and equipment were not there. The temples were built between the 11th and 13th centuries AD.

One gets stunned by viewing so perfect architecture that it can only be imagined how thuis would have been achieved.

About Guru Shikhar

Guru Shikhar is the highest point in Rajasthan. It is situated at around 15 km from Nakki Lake at a height 1,722 m (5,650 ft). There are quite a few stairs to climb up to Guru Shikhar before one can ring the bell. The nautral serenity and cool breeze of the place will make one feel so calm that one can never forget this experience ever. The place got this name from Guru Dattatreya, there is a temple of Guru Dattatreya at the peak.

The place is so blessed with natural beauty that almost every view so enchanting. The stairs also has amazing shopping gallery and few places to eat. The trip to Mount Abu is also incomplete if tis peak of Guru Shikhar is not visited.

About Achal Garh

Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple is thousands of years old and very old stories of itself. The temple is worshipped for toe of the Lord Shiva which, as per the sayings, saved the placed from being sucked inside to the center of the Earth.

Also, there lies the statue of Nandi (not shown in the pics), which serves the mount to Lord Shiva, made of five different metal gold, silver, copper, brass and zinc. Story says that when the temple was attacked the Nandi statue released thousands of bumble bees to prevent the temple from being harmed.

The whole temple was covered under the layer of lime from being harmed by anyone and it was in 1979 when the Yuvraj of Sirohi found something marbel like lying inside the layer of lime and then started the work of restoring the temple.

Arbuda Devi

About Arbuda Devi

Arbuda Devi (Adhar Devi) is one of the most popular religious tourist places in Mount Abu. It has more than 300 stairs that one has to climb up to visit the temple. It is the temple of Goddess Durga and has a story associated that the "Adhar" of the Goddess Durga fell down here and hence got the name Adhar Devi.

The number of stairs should not let one away from visiting this beautiful temple as once anyone visits the temple, this religiuos place make the climb worth the efforts. The cool breeze and the very beautiful temple give a mental peace that has a very wonderful feeling.

Ambaji

About Ambaji

Ambaji is one of the ancient fifty-one Shakti Peeth Tirth in India. It is situated in District Banaskantha of State Gujrat at a distance of approximately 24 kms from Abu Road. The place is in continous construction from the charity of religious devotees visiting the temple. The place is visited by almost all who are on a trip to Abu Road.

There is no image or statue of the Goddess here as such but "Shree Visa Yanta" is worshipped here. It is said that no one can see the Yantra with naked eye and photography inside the temple is strictly not allowed. Recently the temple is now being covered in the layer of gold and the work is in very fast progress. There are different slots of visiting hours for the temple visit or darshan. Also, there are many religiuos temple nearby that one can have a visit while the Amabji Visit. At a height approximately 490 m(1600 ft), Gabbar hill has almost a thousand steps to climb up. This is place where the heart of the Sati Mata fell down as per legends in "Tantra Chudamani". It has a small temple on the top where a lamp is constantly burning known as Akhand Deep.

Recently rope way has also started so that devotees can use it to the visit the temple. The temple's hill top has a great view of the city and a very cool breeze flowing. One can easily feel the mental calmness and peace when at temple. It is must visit site if one has visited Ambaji Temple.

Travel

Travel to Mount Abu

There are a lot of options to travel to Mount Abu if you are in Abu Road. Abu Road Railway Station and Bus Stand are just 550 meters apart. There are very frequent buses from the bus stand to Mount Abu and also there are a lot of cabs available that you can book to get a personal ride to the very beautiful journey to Mount Abu. Mount Abu bus stand and Abu Road bus stand are around 29 kms away from each other. Be careful if you are driving for the first time to Mount Abu as the roads have sharp turns and rains can affect your vision to the road so drive cautiously.

Travel to Ambaji

Ambaji is in the state Gujrat. There are also very frequent buses from Abu Road to Ambaji and also there are a lot of cabs available that you can book to get a personal ride to the very beautiful journey to Ambaji. Ambaji bus stand and Abu Road bus stand are around 24 kms away. Be careful if you are driving for the first time.
